According to the musician, paying TV and Radio stations for airplay and interviews makes it very difficult for up-and-coming artistes who can’t afford to get such platforms to sell their crafts.

Zongo Abongo also believes the TV and Radio stations should rather pay creatives because they provide these outlets with content to survive.

“Dear fellow Artistes, STOP PAYING RADIO & TV Stations for Airplays/Interviews. Doing so affects other musicians who can’t afford to pay their way through. After all, they the (Radio & Tv) stations need contents to run their media and should rather pay you for providing them the content and not the other way round. Put some value on your craft.” Zongo Abongo posted on his Facebook timeline.

Zongo Abongo has been in the music industry for well over 15 years now. Zongo Abongo is well known for his versatility in the fusion of his local Dagbani dialect, Pidgen, Twi, English and Hausa on traditional beats, Afrobeats and the likes of Francophone beats. He is a producer, a song writer, a composer and a performer. Zongo has worked with Panji Anoff of Pidgen Music in Ghana, Afroganic from the UK, DJ Nash Sweet Fingers from France and currently working with The Busy Twist from UK.
