As part of the Celebration of the 10 anniversary of Sarkodie’s Rapperholic album, he held a Twitter spaces conversation to interact with his fans.
Sarkodie talked about how he approached music with all the seriousness any business person would need for a venture.
“I have been able to be consistent. I’ve learnt a lot about the business that I am into. Because my perception, in the beginning was, you come out, you become famous, people know you, and automatically you make money. I didn’t understand that there is more to it. It’s a whole business.”
He said there is no difference between the music business and a corporate venture because he pays attention to it, since that is what he has chosen to do for the rest of his life.
“I think I’ve learnt the business, I’m still learning. And I’ve appreciated my job over the years, and this is something that I’d like to pass on to parents who don’t kinda like feel their children has [sic] to go into this business because they see people not survive it,” he noted.
“I think if you get into the business, and you love it you have to learn the ins and out and that’s one thing that I have been able to figure out,” he added.
Sarkodie, who runs his music works through his record label SarKcess Music has been in the mainstream music industry for over then years.
He is one of the few artistes in Ghana, who have been able to run their affairs effectively under their own labels.
